There are a few things you can do to try and collect rent arrears, but it’s important to remember that debt collection is a legal process.

    How we Collect Rent Arrears

We can deal with overdue rent payments in the following way:

    Serve Reminder Notice

This is a face-to-face formal notice that reminds the tenant of their outstanding balance and the date that payment is due. This is all recorded on body cam and documented for the landlords case. It’s important for us to do this in a safe and secure manner for everyones safety.

    Speak to the Tenant

Sometimes a friendly reminder is all it takes to get a tenant to pay their outstanding balance. If you have a good relationship with the tenant, try speaking to them about their late payments and see if you can come up with fast, secure payment.

    Debt Collection Services

Hiring a debt collector may be the best course of action if you are struggling to collect debt. Debt collectors are professionals who are skilled in the art of negotiation and often have access to resources that you may not have, such as databases of contact information for hard-to-reach debtors.

    Commercial Debt

Commercial debt recovery is the process of recovering money that is owed by a business. This can be done through a variety of methods, including negotiation, mediation, and litigation. Commercial debt recovery can be a complex and time-consuming process. That’s where we help.

    Irish Government Rent Guidelines

The Irish government has announced that it will be taking steps to recover unpaid rent from tenants. The new measures, which will come into effect from next month, will require tenants to provide proof of their income and assets before they can sign a lease.

In addition, landlords will be required to submit proof of their rental income and expenses to the government.

The move comes after a report from the National Development Finance Agency (NDFA) found that unpaid rent was costing the Irish economy €1.5 billion per year.

The NDFA estimates that up to 30% of all tenant households in Ireland are in arrears on their rent.

The new measures are designed to ensure that tenants are able to meet their obligations, and to protect landlords from loss of income.
